Robert Henry, Part 1

I recently had the opportunity to photograph concert pianist Robert Henry, who just recorded his first album. Robert and I tossed around several ideas for location, and we wound up shooting at the beautiful Ambient Plus Studio in downtown Atlanta. This daylight studio was exactly what we had visualized, and Steinway came through with delivery of a gorgeous piano for the shoot.

We spent 2 hours creating this first set of photographs; we’ll be taking to the streets next week for Part 2. (I’m just keeping my fingers crossed for some mild weather!)

It’s so amazing to see a little boy grow from brand-new baby to a rambunctious 2-year-old! Render is so full of energy, he was WONDERFUL to photograph!

Baby Kate

Dan and I made Christie and Bryon’s engagement portraits way back in 2006 (feels like forever ago!), and I was so happy to hear that they just welcomed a daughter into their lives! Baby Kate is only 2 weeks old, and she was the perfect little model. :)

Miss Kate opened her pretty eyes for just a few seconds before falling back asleep:

This crib belonged to Bryon’s father as a baby. It’s so precious to see Kate in it now!

Christie and Bryon, thank you so much for inviting me to photograph you again! I’m so happy to have met the newest member of your beautiful family!

2010 Senior: Angela

It was kind of surreal to photograph Angela, who graduates form high school in just a few months. Angela’s big sis is one of my very best friends from my own high school years, and seeing our little sisses grow up makes us all weepy and proud. Angela is smart — she’s headed into some sort of science field that’s way over my head — and athletic and TOTALLY beautiful!

When we stepped into this field, I looked down at a huge patch of clover. I said, “Wouldn’t it be crazy if we found a 4-leaf clover in here?” I have NEVER, EVER found a 4-leaf clover in my LIFE. But as soon as I squatted down next to the little plants this GIANT 4-leafer was staring me straight in the face. LUCKY DAY!
