Just a couple of photos that jumped out at us in our first viewing of Tyler and Will’s wedding from Saturday…

First, Anne’s shot of Tyler and Will seeing one another for the first time in their wedding clothes. Will was SO nervous, and they both just hugged and held each other for the first few minutes. It was a beautiful moment!

Second, Dan’s shot of Tyler and Will during their first dance. The expression on Tyler’s face is so cute!

For the first time since getting married, Dan and I spent Christmas with his family in Ohio. Our shooting schedule has always made it impossible to travel around the holidays, so we knew we had to take advantage of our open calendar this Christmas! It was a little emotional for me, since I’ve never been away from my family on Christmas, but we had an incredible time, and I’m SO glad we went!

A few highlights, in order of occurrance:

-We were completely screwed over by the rental car company we had booked with, which was really annoying, but in the end we wound up with a WAY cooler car from the fabulous folks at Hertz and a very easy drive through the mountains!  Not every couple can spend 10 hours in a car together and love every minute of it, but we sure did!

-Dan’s mom didn’t know we were coming. His step-dad kept it a secret and when we showed up at 10pm on Monday night she FLIPPED. Everyone was crying and hugging and it was SO much fun!

-We were upgraded to a KING SUITE at the Westin Columbus, all at a “my-sister-works-for-Starwood” price. SWEET!  We were treated like absolute royalty the entire time.

-Dan’s family recently moved into a house that backs up to a small farm. Missy and I went out one morning and spent time with the horses…

It was SO cold outside!  Everyone’s breath was steaming in the frosty air.

I don’t know if this is a colt or a pony.  Anyone out there know?  I just called him “Little Horse.”

Little Horse didn’t get too far from Big Horse.  If he did, Big Horse would stomp and whinny.  If Big Horse wasn’t the mom, she sure was bossy!

We feel so blessed to be surrounded by family who love and support us. We know it’s an incredible gift, and we are so grateful.

Elli and Jason swung by on Tuesday to pick up their Art Album. It was fun to give it to them in person; usually we have to ship albums since so many of our couples live out of state or travel constantly for work. It also didn’t hurt that the four of us snagged a mid-afternoon beer break after oohing and aahing over the album! Gotta love self-employment…

Hooray!  Our last wedding of 2008 was completely wonderful.  We met amazing people, has some scrumptious food from Affairs to Remember, and made some pretty awesome photos (if we do say so ourselves).

First, a shot of Kris’s adorable little flats.

Kevin Underwood from Michael Azar Salon created a gorgeous updo for Kris. Kevin has been styling Kris’s hair for… I think she said 10 years? When he worked out of New York she said she would FLY just to have her hair cut! Now THAT is dedication — and some good hair cuttin’!

Henrik ties his tie.  Apparently there was some to-do about this striped with his pinstriped shirt. We thought it looked fabulous though!

We love the way the autumn theme was so elegantly carried through the day.  Our favorite Lika Milko coordinated everything perfectly!

 Kris and Henrik, thank you so much for entrusting us with this special celebration! We loved meeting your family and friends… truly, you may look us up one day and find we’ve moved to Sweden!

As we gear up to shoot our first wedding of 2009, it seems like the perfect time to share our LAST wedding of 2008!

Before each wedding, of course, there is a rehearsal, and I was honored to attend and photograph Kris and Henrik’s rehearsal dinner at their home in Vinings.  It was a chilly, rainy evening, but full of excitement as family gathered to celebrate!
