Jessica and Brett’s wedding marks our final working weekend of 2007. And, in all honesty, it was the best possible way to wrap up an amazing season!

We could go on and on about how much it DIDN’T feel like work, but we’re guessing you guys already know how awesome we think you both are.

So to start: Jessica and Brett’s entire weekend celebration was held at The Duncan House, a GORGEOUS plantation home on Lake Dora in Tavares, Florida. They were able to stay at the house with their family and wedding party, making the whole experience really seamless and relaxing!

I love this shot of Jessica. Putting on a wedding dress is one of the weirdest, most awesome things many women will ever do, and I just love that she’s laughing hysterically as she gets ready!

Old family photographs were arranged in one of the parlors. Here are the dads perusing…

These cuties walked down the stairs for the ceremony then just stood there, calmly awaiting instructions. I love the flower girl’s stuffed poodle bride!

Brett bawled when Jessica walked out… and when she stood in front of him… and when they kissed… and after the whole thing was over… It was pretty awesome. (Dan totally did the exact same thing at our wedding.)

Jessica’s Mom, Dad, and grandmother, cheering for the newlyweds! (And of course, there’s Anne in the background, ruining EVERYTHING. Just kidding.)

All the flowers were provided by Flourish Productions, who who even made sure the gorgeous chandeliers were hung in the large oak tree by the lake!

This might be our favorite father-daughter dance photo of all time. Nice moves, guys!

Brett and his mom really boogied down, too. Thank HEAVEN we don’t have to dance. We are no match for our clients. I’m so serious.

Our favorite videographers of ALL TIME (this is NOT a joke) caught every single awesome moment, including some hot hora action! Check out Simply Cinematic online — they’re based in central Florida, and will travel all over the country!

You definitely need to check out the slideshow to get the full effect, but Jessica and Brett had some INCREDIBLE paper designs — everything from the invitation to the menus to the favors were just exquisite. Kudos to Designs by MK for really tying everything together!

Hooray! Jana and John’s BEAUTIFUL October wedding is a featured Real Wedding in the latest Bride’s Atlanta publication!

We have to give another shout out to Gooseberry Creative Events for crafting such a fabulous celebration! And extra kudos to Gooseberry’s Jiwon, who has branched out to form an event planning team serving both Atlanta AND Chicago. **Check out Jiwon’s new website here!

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend those post-Christmas days than to be in Tavares, Florida for Jessica and Brett’s wedding weekend! We had an absolute BLAST with the two of them, and we couldn’t wait to share a sneak peek of their photos!

These images are from our Day After shoot, which is exactly what it sounds like: photos taken the “day after” the wedding. Jessica’s super-licious hair and makeup artist came back out, the couple got all dressed up again in their wedding gear, and we headed into nearby downtown Mt. Dora for some relaxed portraits (sans the pressure of the wedding day).

Huge shout out to Melody at My Wedding Veil who created Jessica’s stunning birdcage veil and fascinator — totally gorgeous!

Yippee! Here’s the spread of Laura and Matt’s wedding from The Knot’s Florida publication! (The cover is identical to the Georgia magazine.)

Growing up, I wasn’t one of those kids with 12 aunts and uncles and 37 cousins. Instead I grew up with this amazing extended family — kids and adults who weren’t related to me by blood, but who were such an integral part of my family’s happiness and strength that they may as well have been my aunt and uncles and cousins.

One of these families just sent their oldest son, Benjamin, off to basic training for the Coast Guard. At his send-off party, Benjamin announced his engagement to his awfully-cute girlfriend Amanda! With so much going on for the Merritt family, I was honored to photograph them all this past Sunday here in Grant Park!

Today is our first official day back in the studio after a fabulous holiday!

We just had to post a huge THANK YOU to all of our fan-ta-bulous clients, friends, and family who sent us Christmas cards and other greetings over the holiday season! We were complete lazy bums and didn’t create a Christmas card this year, but we’ve been totally inspired by you all and we PROMISE to get on it next season!

We can’t wait to share some of what we’ve been up to during the past few weeks, including photographing Jessica and Brett’s wedding in Tavares, Florida on December 29th! It was SOOOOOO gorgeous and we had an amazing time… photos coming soon!
