Back To Atlanta

By Dan Almasy | News, Personal | March 30, 2007 |

We have some news that we wanted to share with everyone – We’re moving!

Starting this month, we will be having client meetings and conducting shoots in and around our new place, and we have to say, it’s really great to be back in Atlanta after a several year hiatus.

Our new space is located at the historic Crown Candy building, right near Oakland Cemetary. Some great Atlanta locales like Six Feet Under and Ria’s Bluebird Cafe are all nearby too.

We love living, working, and playing in the city of Atlanta, and we’re looking forward to creating some great new memories (and photographs) with all of you.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we’ll have some images of the new studio to share with you!

Shooting With Tim

By Dan Almasy | Weddings | March 28, 2007 |

This Sunday I had the pleasure of helping my good friend Tim Harman photograph a wedding in Emerson, GA.

The lucky couple, Mallory and Josh had a great ceremony and reception, and were surrounded by a lot of great friends and family members. Josh (the groom) wrote and performed a song to honor the memory of Mallory’s father who is no longer with us, and it was very touching.

It’s not often that I get to second-shoot with friends, but I had a great time, and I’m glad Tim asked me to come along and help. I wanted to go ahead and share a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Thanks again to Tim for having me come along, he’s a great photographer and friend. Be sure to head over to Tim’s website and blog and leave lots of nice comments!

Engaged! Jessi + Brad

By Anne Almasy | E-Shoots | March 26, 2007 |

Jessi and Brad are fantastic. They’re the kind of couple who make you want to sit back and enjoy the sunset. I’m sure that sounds ridiculous, but it’s the only way I can describe them. :)

We spent an hour at Springvale Park in Atlanta’s Inman Park neighborhood. The light was perfect… the weather was perfect… I can hardly believe it’s only the end of March!

These are a few of my favorite shots…

Engaged! Jessica + Ed

By Dan & Anne Almasy | E-Shoots | March 23, 2007 |

In less than three weeks, Jessica and Ed will finally say “I do!”! They’re getting married in the gorgeous gardens behind Ed’s aunt’s house in downtown Atlanta on historic Springdale.

Here they are in the courtyard where Ed proposed – one year to the day that they will be getting married!

Ed tickled Jess mercilessly throughout the entire 45-minute shoot. ;)

This wide view shows how amazing the gardens are. We are SO excited to shoot here!

Engaged! Rashida + Robert

By Dan & Anne Almasy | Books & Albums, E-Shoots | March 23, 2007 |

Yay for Piedmont Park!

This place was practically our own outdoor studio last week! We met up with Rashida and Robert on Monday evening to shoot some engagement photos. The light was phenomenal, and the weather was perfect!

This was our first time meeting Robert, and it was really great to see him and Rashida as a couple. They’re fantastic together!

Engaged! Alesha + Drew: Photos AND E-Book!

By Dan & Anne Almasy | Books & Albums, E-Shoots | March 18, 2007 |

We had a fantastic time this morning at Piedmont Park with Alesha and Drew, who will be MARRIED in only FIVE WEEKS! :D

We give them a big gold star for being SOOOO well-dressed. Good work guys!

We created our first E-Book for Alesha and Drew, a custom 7×7 “brag book” of our favorite photographs from their engagement shoot. Click HERE or anywhere on the image below to see their entire book!

Press-Printed Designs

By Dan & Anne Almasy | Design | March 15, 2007 |

We’ve had a lot of fun lately creating a series of custom cards. The first is Jana and John’s Save-the-Date card. EVERYTHING on there was digitally created by Dan. No photos. Great stuff, huh?

An Art Watercolor paper gives their cards a great textured feel.

We were also honored to redesign the brochures for Gooseberry Events, the event planning firm who is coordinating Jana and John’s wedding!

We printed Gooseberry’s brochures on a Pearl paper, which really makes them glow!

This is the ALMASY-designed brochure beside Gooseberry’s old brochure. Improvement? ;)

Coffee Table Book! Molly + Ben

By Anne Almasy | Books & Albums | March 15, 2007 |

Wedding season is upon us! We’re getting so busy we may soon need a constant caffiene drip just to keep going. ;) But we still managed to get Molly and Ben’s AsukaBook designed and online for review!

Their Serenbe wedding was absolutely exquisite; most definitely one of our favorites of 2006!
