I love putting together AsukaBooks for parents, friends, and other relatives of the newlyweds!

This book was for Christina’s mom from Christina and Kirk’s wedding last year. They selected a 7×7 30-page book with a total of 38 images.

The cover is my favorite part! There was a LOT of hot pink at Christina and Kirk’s wedding, and we wanted to really make use of that terrific bold color on the cover.

I also love this spread of formal portraits. The Spanish moss hanging from the trees was so beautiful, especially with the sunlight streaming through from behind. What a fun wedding! :)

We’ve also finally received Christina and Kirk’s own picks for their custom book, so be on the lookout for a full preview of that book soon!

I had an INCREDIBLE time yesterday at Zack Arias’s “One Light Workshop” here in Atlanta! Dan got to experience the One Light last year, so when a spot opened up for the 2/25 workshop I knew I had to take it! :)

Our model was Christina. She was fantastic! (I’ll add a link to her contact info once I have it.) Zack set up our first few shots in this alleyway behind his studio. I grabbed a few photos here, but my favorite was this one with the sky peaking out in the corner.

Our friends Hassel and Bené Weems were their with their precious little girl! She was sitting in front of the studio’s makeup mirror, and totally didn’t bat an eye when I took her picture. I guess that’s what happens when your mommy and daddy are both photographers. ;)

This was another one of Zack’s setups. A ladder was in the middle of the room for people to stand on, but I decided to shoot through it.

Around 9pm Zack sent everyone out with lights and we just shot. It was like being in art school all over again, trying to coerce your friends into modeling for your assignment. ;)

The workshop was scheduled from 10:30am until 12:30am (yes, that’s 14 hours!), but it was 3:00am before we finally wrapped things up and called it a day.

I was sorting through Lindsey and John’s digital negatives today, toning them for presentation on their 1-year anniverary (WOW – time flies!). I came across this series of photos from after the cake-cutting; this is the little boy Lindsey nannies, and he is SO eating this cake up. I just love it! Had to share…

We had an absolutely *lovely* time today in Gainesville, GA with our friend Mary Beth Begley of The Crystal Plate. Mary Beth’s shop offers over 112 patterns of GORGEOUS china and crystal, as well as monogrammed linens and Herend figurines. It’s truly a sight to behold!

Mary Beth’s sweet puppy Jen-Jen was feeling under the weather today, so she didn’t feel much like being photographed. ;)

We were honored to meet Mary Beth’s husband, Jim Begley; when he walked in the first thing we both thought was, “Hmm, SANTA CLAUS!” Turns out, Jim is in fact a member of the Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas! YES that is a REAL organization of men who have a part-time position honoring the Patron Saint of Secret Giving. HOW COOL!

We’re SO looking forward to photographing Alesha Mann and Drew Walker (Chateau Elan), as well as Sara Wynne and Jacob Billingsly (The Chattahoochie Country Club), both Gainesville couples sent our way by Mary Beth! :)

I’m that obnoxious friend who ALWAYS has her camera, and who ALWAYS wants to take a picture of you. Candice has been my friend since high-school, so she’s used to me by now. (I hope!) ;)

Perhaps I’m biased. But I believe my nephew Corbin is the CUTEST 3-month-old baby boy on the planet today. ;) Here’s proof:

Some books can never capture certain aspects of the wedding day. Lauren and Andrew’s book doesn’t even begin to show how incredibly hot it was in Charleston on June 24th! :)

Despite the heat, Lauren and Andrew’s wedding was exceptionally gorgeous, and I was reminded of it while putting together their book. There were so many fabulous colors and details (courtesy of Luke’s Events) we couldn’t fit it all in!
